Morning Roundup

January 4, 2010

It’s too bad that everyone from Maine to Florida is freezing their asses off this morning, but there’s plenty to feel all warm and fuzzy about, namely:

Vampire Weekend has posted a full Contra stream on their MySpace! You’ve been satiating your desire with singles (new MP3s have surfaced) and videos since last summer, but now you can experience it as a whole less than a week before the official release.

In honor of the new(ish) tracks, enjoy these badass VW remixes:

The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance (Chromeo Rmx)

Horchata (Kid Cola remix)

Cape Cod (The Teenagers Remix)

The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance (Miike Snow Remix)

Feist is back (again!), this time with Jeff Tweedy on the beautifully re-recorded Skip Spence / Beck Record Club collective track “Broken Heart.” Watch them in action here.

Rivers Cuomo, recuperating after an incapacitating bush crash during his recent Weezer tour, has posted up a new demo on his Indaba music page. Placeholder lyrics help him remember the melody as $208 is offered as bait to whoever can produce a better-sounding demo. Maybe I’ll work on that later today…

Tegan and Sara have finished the setlist for their upcoming tour. “brace yourselves t+s fans. our set list is done. 27 songs. thank goodness we’re playing theaters. bring snacks and lower back support.” @theteganandsara. Kicking off tomorrow night at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, BC, they will be touring North America non-stop for four months.

Kid Cudi was found to be wearing a kilt in Miami on New Years for the W’s NYE party on South Beach. Wonder what his drink of choice was that evening – Guinness or a martini?

That’s all the good stuff for now!
